Our Historic Saturday

10/08/2007

I witnessed an historic event on Saturday with my staff team. USC lost for the 1st time at home since September of '01 to Stanford. STANFORD! Stanford was ranked somewhere in the low 100s and USC was #2. How does that happen? We thought we were going to be watching a very boring game...one of the only games we could actually get tickets for...but we (along with everyone else) were wrong. It was one of the most exciting games I've ever seen. Up for grabs to the very last second. Crazy, unlikely plays. And a halftime show that was actually entertaining. (If you've seen Rice's marching band, you get some idea of what Stanford is like. Those crazy smart kids!) Anyway...after complaining about the price of the tickets and the not-so-great seats, I'm very glad I was there.

*note to any USC students or fans reading this--I still love you and feel very sorry for your loss. My enjoyment of the loss had nothing to do with you. It was just an exciting game. Plus, I love to see the underdog win...unless of course my team is the underdog. Please forgive me. I am not a Trojan. I'm simply a Horned Frog transplant.
